Tripoli: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Omran Al-Qayeb, met with acting Minister of Education, Ali Al-Abed, to discuss the restoration of educational facilities to their original condition at the ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli on Sunday.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on the mechanisms for handing over the current headquarters, which is presently used by the Ministry of Higher Education but is originally owned by the Ministry of Education. The aim is to maintain the building and restore it to its primary function as a school.
Further discussions revolved around the possibility of returning schools and educational facilities currently used by higher education and scientific research institutions to the Ministry of Education. This move aims to support the education sector’s infrastructure, address existing deficits, and ensure the proper utilization of educational facilities.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to restore the administrative, financial, and technical affiliation of Libyan schools abroad to the Ministry of Education, as confirmed by the Ministry of Education.
