Al-Namroush Engages with Tetteh on Military Unification Initiatives

Tripoli: Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. 'Salah al-Din al-Namroush,' held discussions today with the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya, 'Hanna Tetteh,' focusing on the crucial steps toward the unification of the military institution.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting concentrated on ways to support the implementation of steps arising from the recent Sirte meeting. These steps are designed to establish a foundation for a unified military institution. Discussions also covered mechanisms to support these efforts in the upcoming phase, ensuring movement toward practical actions for military unification.

The discussions also included a review of the outcomes and recommendations from the Joint Military Commission (5+5) meetings. Additionally, the role of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the international community was examined, emphasizing their support in the process of unifying Libyan institutions, particularly the military, to bolster security, stability, and national unity.
