Tripoli- The President of the Supreme Council of State, “Khaled Al-Mashri” and the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, “Richard Norland,” agreed during their meeting today in Cairo on the need to support the United Nations-led process, which aims to hold parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible, as demanded by Libyan voters, according to a tweet posted by Ambassador Norland on the US Embassy’s Twitter page.

Norland said in the tweet (I encourage all participants in the upcoming Cairo meeting between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to work on behalf of the Libyan people and reach the necessary consensus to establish the constitutional basis for the elections).
