Al-Menfi Holds High-Level Talks with Tunisian Counterpart at Carthage Palace

Tunis: Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, who is on a working visit to Tunisia, held high-level bilateral talks with Tunisian President Kais Saied this Monday afternoon at Carthage Palace in the Tunisian capital.

According to Libyan News Agency, these talks provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries and discuss mechanisms for developing strategic relations in various fields, serving common interests and enhancing stability and development in the region.

The meeting addressed developments in the Palestinian issue, with both sides stressing their firm and supportive stance on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in the face of ongoing attacks and violations, particularly in the Gaza Strip, including killing, destruction, forced displacement, and systematic starvation.

Regarding the Libyan issue, the Tunisian President affirmed his country’s full support for the Libyan Presidential Council and its efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the political process and achieving a comprehensive settlement that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people for stability and national unity.

The two presidents also discussed the importance of coordinating bilateral positions in regional and international forums and unifying efforts to confront common challenges amid current regional and international changes.

This visit falls within the framework of enhancing ongoing consultations between the Libyan and Tunisian leaderships and advancing bilateral cooperation towards broader and more integrated horizons.
