Tripoli: President of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army Mohamed Al-Menfi affirmed that building a unified, professional, disciplined Libyan army with a national doctrine represents a fundamental pillar in building the state, consolidating its stability, and ensuring a secure future for its coming generations.
According to Libyan News Agency, in a speech marking the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Libyan Army, Al-Menfi stated that the commemoration is not just about celebrating past history but about protecting a homeland and maintaining a unified army. He emphasized that the greatest tribute to the founding fathers lies not in repeating their names but in completing their vision of one state, one sovereignty, and one national military institution.
Al-Menfi further elaborated that, despite the challenges and obligations facing Libya, efforts are underway with firm determination and steadfast resolve to unify the military institution. He highlighted the importance of consolidating its national foundations, ensuring that it operates under unified civilian leadership. The army's allegiance should be to God and then to the homeland, with its primary objective being the protection of Libya, safeguarding its security and stability, and preserving its sovereignty and resources, free from political divisions and internal disputes.
