Al-Menfi Discusses Security and Military Developments in Tripoli with UN Envoy

Tripoli: The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, met with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, also included the Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussion focused on the latest developments in the security and military situation in Tripoli. They also addressed the challenges facing efforts to achieve calm and a political settlement in the country.

The Media Office of the Presidential Council noted that Tetteh expressed her appreciation for the pivotal role played by Menfi in advancing the national dialogue. She acknowledged his commitment to bringing parties together at the negotiating table to consolidate security and stability, and for fostering a joint leadership to accomplish the necessary national requirements.
