Al-Menfi Chairs Military Meeting in Tripoli

Tripoli: The Presidential Council’s media office reported that the Council’s Chairman and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Menfi, chaired an expanded meeting this morning in Tripoli. The meeting included key military and government figures such as the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, along with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense for Military Regions, Abdul Salam Zubi, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Commander of the Central Military Region, the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, the Head of Operations, the Director of the Supreme Commander’s Office, and the Director of the Minister of Defense’s Office.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting’s agenda focused on the security situation and restructuring the military establishment at all levels. Discussions centered on defining tasks, developing competencies, and implementing mechanisms for activating the Military Retirement Law.

The office further explained that Al-Menfi praised the efforts of the Libyan army in supporting the pillars of security and stability. He emphasized the importance of reorganizing the military institution, enhancing professionalism and discipline, developing competencies, and unifying administrative structures. These measures aim to reinforce the Libyan army’s significant role in protecting the state and its resources, as well as its cooperation with all security agencies.
