Al-Menfi and Tetteh Address Security and Political Progress in Tripoli

Tripoli: The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, discussed with Hanna Tetteh, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, the latest security and political developments in the capital, Tripoli.

According to Libyan News Agency, during the meeting, the importance of consolidating the declared truce and ensuring a ceasefire was emphasized. This was to be achieved by supporting the security arrangements overseen by the Presidential Council, in coordination with local and international partners.

The discussions also included exploring options to resolve the current impasse, reflecting the outcomes of the Advisory Committee. The goal was to formulate a consensual vision that advances the political process towards a stable and comprehensive path, ultimately ensuring the holding of national elections on clear constitutional and legal foundations.
