Tripoli, 11 October 2022 (Lana) GNU Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Manqoush ,received on Monday the Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Bucino.
The two parts discussed the political developments on the Libyan arena, and efforts of the Ministry and GNU government to enhance stability and peace in the country.
The Minister confirmed the actual start of the steps to pave the way for political stability leading to elections according to a clear short roadmap which defines commitments towards the electoral process and avoids any scenarios that do not respond to the aspiration of the Libyan people.
Al-Manqoush stressed readiness of the GNU government to cooperate with the new Italian government, to build relations and common interest that serve the two friendly countries and the importance of continuing to enhance them at all levels.
The Italian Ambassador expressed his country’s support for maintaining security and stability in Libya, to achieve the national elections ,according to a constitutional basis ,explaining that Libya’s stability is an essential and important issue for the stability of the Mediterranean region.
