Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called on the European Union to take its active role in stopping the crimes of genocide in Gaza. A statement by his office said that Al-Mandlawi received at his residence in Baghdad today, Thursday, the head of the European Union mission to Iraq, Thomas Sailer, and his accompanying delegation. According to the statement, the two sides discussed the nature of relations between Iraq and the European Union countries and the international community in general within the framework of the new policy of Iraqi diplomacy seeking to build positive relations with everyone. Al-Mandlawi stressed the need to activate the partnership agreement between Iraq and the European Union that entered into force and to begin the stage of openness, dialogue and cooperation to combat hate speech and constructive economic cooperation to ensure the protection of common interests. He explained that the situation in the region is rapidly escalating due to the repeated attacks by the Zionist entity on Lebanon, Iran and Syria, and the crimes of genocide it is committing against our people in Gaza, calling for the necessity for the European Union countries to exercise their necessary and effective role in pressuring to curb the crimes of the Zionists and working to maintain the stability of the entire region.
