Al-Mandlawi announces the formation of a parliamentary friendship committee between Iraq and the Emirates

Baghdad , Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandlawi announced the formation of the parliamentary friendship committee between Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

The media office of the Speaker of Parliament stated: “Al-Mandlawi met today with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Iraq, Salem Issa Al-Zaabi, to discuss a number of topics of common interest.”

He added: “Al-Mandlawi announced the formation of the friendship committee between the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the UAE Federal National Council, with the aim of developing parliamentary relations, exchanging legislative expertise, and coordinating positions in regional and international parliamentary forums, as the Emirati ambassador handed over a document submitted by the Speaker of the Federal National Council Saqr Ghobash to the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, which includes members of the friendship group.”

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields, es
pecially at the political, economic and investment levels, and stressed the importance of deepening cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the Emirates in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples. They also discussed the challenges and developments witnessed by the region and the necessity of maintaining communication and coordination regarding files that enjoy mutual interest.
