First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Iraqi Al-Asas Alliance,Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received the head and members of the Alliance’s list of candidates for the Holy Governorate of Karbala.
During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Mandalawi’s office, the bloc’s most important needs for running in the provincial council elections scheduled to be held at the end of this year were discussed, as well as the necessity and quality of local and international oversight in all governorates to ensure their transparency and nominate worthy figures to represent their constituencies.
Al-Mandalawi stressed the need to support competent and strong personalities capable of making firm decisions to advance the situation in the governorates, especially the holy governorate of Karbala, which has a special status, as it is a destination for millions of visitors annually and needs a major service revolution that shows it in an image that befits its sacred status, as well as restoring citizens’ confidence in their representatives.
