Al-Lafi Engages with Dutch Delegation to Discuss Human Rights and Transitional Justice.

Tripoli: Deputy of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, held a meeting with a delegation from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Qusha Korthals, Director of the Department of North Africa and the Middle East. The meeting was also attended by Ninke Staal, Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands in Tripoli.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Lafi commended the robust relationship between Libya and the Netherlands, highlighting the positive contributions of the Netherlands, particularly through the International Working Group on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. He emphasized the significance of these contributions in advancing the transitional justice process in Libya.

During the discussions, Korthals reiterated the Netherlands’ commitment to supporting the Libyan Presidential Council in its efforts to uphold human rights, foster national reconciliation, and implement transitional justice, which she identified as crucial elements for the country’s stability.
