Al-Lafi Engages with Austrian Foreign Ministry Delegation in Tripoli

Tripoli: The Deputy of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, engaged in discussions with Gerold Vollmer, the Director of the North Africa and Middle East Department at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli. The meeting was attended by the Austrian Ambassador to Libya and focused on the bilateral relations between Libya and Austria.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions addressed joint relations and cooperation in the national reconciliation file. The efforts of the Presidential Council to resolve the ongoing political stalemate were a key focus. During the meeting, Al-Lafi urged the Austrian delegation to facilitate the return of the Austrian embassy to Tripoli and encouraged Austrian companies to resume their operations in Libya.

The Austrian official expressed his country’s support for the Presidential Council’s efforts to advance a comprehensive political process. This initiative aims to create conditions conducive to holding free and transparent elections in Libya.
