Al-Lafi Engages EU Ambassador on Border Security and Political Cooperation

Tripoli: The Deputy of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, engaged in discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, focusing on cooperation in securing borders and addressing shared economic and political issues between Libya and the European Union.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Media and Communication Office of the Presidential Council reported that Al-Lafi expressed his support for the newly appointed UN Secretary-General’s envoy. He emphasized the Presidential Council’s commitment to supporting the UN mission’s efforts to bridge gaps between Libyan parties and urged for expedited actions to resolve the ongoing political stagnation.

The meeting further delved into the progress of national reconciliation efforts and explored avenues for collaboration in technical aspects of peacebuilding and transitional justice. These efforts aim to fulfill electoral commitments and meet the aspirations of the Libyan populace.
