Al Khaldiya Club win maiden Nasser bin Hamad Premier League

On behalf of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, attended the final match of the 2022-2023 Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, held at the Khalifa Sports City.

Al Khaldiya Club drew 1-1 against Bahrain Club to go top of the league table with 42 points, and win their first-ever football premier league championship.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad crowned the Al Khaldiya Club, by presenting them with the shield of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, and a cash prize of BD 75,000.

HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated the Al Khaldiya Club, led by Mahmood Janahi, on clinching their maiden Premier League title, attributing their success to the distinguished efforts exerted by the team’s board of directors to prepare the club for competition and put in place all success requirements for it.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad lauded the outstanding level showcased by the players throughout the football season, highlighting the improved performance of the national clubs during this season.

HH Shaikh Khalid praised the Al Khaldiya Club’s achievements over the past few years, citing their ability to clinch the second title in their history after winning the King’s Football Cup in 2021.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad paid tribute to the Bahrain Football Association (BDF), led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for its outstanding organisation of the football season, wishing it continued success.
