Tripoli: Acting Minister of Local Government, Abdul Shafi’ Al-Juwaifi, met with the mayors and members of 15 municipalities, including Al-Asabaa, Kikla, Al-Qalaa, Yafran, Zliten, Al-Shuqayqa, Ras Al-Tabbal, Sorman, Nalut, Mizda, Al-Khums, Tajoura, and Ain Zara. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the conditions of these municipalities and monitor the progress of ongoing projects.
According to Libyan News Agency, the ministry clarified during the meeting that an apology was extended regarding a previous statement issued by some municipalities, emphasizing that the statement reflected the views of only those who issued it. The attendees expressed their apologies to Minister Al-Juwaifi, underscoring their respect and intent to strengthen reconciliation and cooperation between the ministry and the municipalities.
The discussions during the meeting included a review of existing projects and the challenges faced by the municipalities. Particular attention was given to providing the necessary support and coordinating efforts between local administrations to enhance efficiency and achieve the desired outcomes. Future plans for the next phase were also on the agenda, along with strategies to enhance cooperation to ensure business continuity and better meet the needs of citizens.
Al-Juwaifi highlighted the importance of adhering to specified timelines to ensure improved service delivery to citizens.
