Al-Dbeiba discusses activation of Libyan-French agreement regarding localization of treatment of children’s tumors.

Tripoli, The Head of the Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba on Sunday held a meeting the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Samir Koko and members of the committee in charge of treating the spinal cordon to discuss mechanism for activating the Libyan-French agreement regarding the localization of treatment for children’s tumors.

The Prime Minister issued directives that this file should be completed in two phases, the first of which is sending approved cases for treatment, with the need to complete the procedures of the agreement and its entry into force.

It is worth mentioning that the Cabinet had approved last October the Ministry of Health agreement with the French company “G Saint Maghri” for the treatment of children’s tumors, bone marrow transplantation and microsurgery.

Government Decision No. (431) of 2021 authorizing the Ministry of Health to contract in the amount of thirteen million six hundred thousand euros, for the treatment of children’s tumors, bone marrow transplantation, and microsurgery for children.

The third article stipulated that the amount would be allocated for the benefit of the Ministry of Health, to be deducted from the General Health Insurance Fund.

And in accordance with Article 4 of the decision, the Janzour Hospital was approved as the site for the start of the program’s implementation.
