Al-Dabaiba reassures the people of Zliten that his government will spare no effort to address the situation resulting from the phenomenon of rising groundwater levels in the city in a scientific manner.

Tripoli: The head of the National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Al-Dabaiba, reassured the people of the city of Zliten that his government and its institutions will spare no effort to address the situation resulting from the phenomenon of rising groundwater levels in the city in a scientific manner, and according to a quick timetable, stressing the necessity of limiting the damages, compensating those affected, and providing rent to all those entitled to it.

This came during his meeting today, Tuesday, with the Central Committee for Monitoring the Situation in the Municipality, the Municipal Council, the Minister of Environment, the Chairman of the Man-Made River Authority Management Committee, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation Management Committee in charge, the Director of the National Center for Disease Control, and the Technical Committee in charge of the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency. Chairman of the Water and Sanitation Company Management Committee, and Minister of Sta
te for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs.

Al-Dabaiba directed the need to unify efforts in order to deal with the crisis in all its aspects, and not to work individually or in an unscientific or professional manner, praising the efforts of the Oil Corporation, the Water and Sanitation Company, the Tripoli and Misrata public services companies, and other parties, stressing the need for their work to be Under the central committee formed by the Council of Ministers.

The Chairman of the Central Committee, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, presented a position on the government efforts made within the municipality, whether in the environmental or health aspect, in addition to disbursing rent allowance to affected families, and inventorying the damage to housing.

The head of the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency, Mahmoud Ajaj, also presented a position on the results of the visit of the English consulting office (DAR Plus) assigned by the agency to study this case, confirming the completion of the final
scope of work, and the start of surveying work and geotechnical tests by drilling 31 exploratory wells that will contribute to Preparing the general plan for implementing the project, which will be completed within 6 weeks.

Al-Toumi also explained that the English consulting office reviewed and approved the temporary project to implement the horizontal displacement network for groundwater because it is an immediate solution. The opening of paths and implementation of the project will begin directly to contribute to reducing the water level, and its implementation will take 20 days.

In turn, the Director of the National Center for Disease Control, Haider Al-Sayeh, explained that the Center assigned 100 emergency teams within the municipality to follow up on health conditions in all its aspects, in addition to providing organic pesticides on a 48-hour basis to contribute to improving health conditions, in addition to raising the readiness of health centers in the affected stores.

The Chairman of the Man-Made
River Authority Management Committee also confirmed that the Authority did not cut off water to Zliten, and continues to coordinate with the Supreme Technical Committee in any procedures related to supplying the city with water, and that no technical procedures other than that are permitted.
