Al-Baour Engages with Spanish Foreign Minister on Strengthening Bilateral Ties

New york: Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, met yesterday with Spanish Foreign Minister Jos© Manuel Albares at the United Nations Headquarters. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Baour praised the bilateral relations between Libya and Spain and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields to benefit both Libyan and Spanish citizens. He expressed appreciation for Spain’s supportive stance on the Palestinian issue, noting that these positions demonstrate the aligned visions of Libya and Spain in promoting regional security and stability.

The meeting also covered discussions on numerous regional and international matters of mutual interest, including strategies to address the irregular migration crisis. The discussions further explored the political and security developments in Libya, highlighting the Government of National Unity’s efforts to foster security, stability, and development, along with its initiatives to unify national institutions.

At the end of their discussions, both parties agreed to maintain ongoing consultations on regional and international issues of shared concern and to coordinate their positions in multilateral forums.
