Tripoli: Taher Al-Baour, the official in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, met on Monday with Donald Blome, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. They discussed the latest political developments in Libya and efforts aimed at unifying state institutions.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The two sides addressed ways to support the roadmap sponsored by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and efforts to enhance security and stability in the country.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Libya and the United States regarding issues of mutual interest, in a manner that supports the path toward stability and preserves Libya's sovereignty.
