Al-Baour and Bangladeshi Ambassador Address Expatriate Worker Issues and Illegal Immigration

Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions with the Bangladeshi Ambassador to Libya, Abul Hasanat Khair Al-Basheer, focusing on the regulation of migrant labor and cooperation in combating illegal immigration. The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions included the consideration of memoranda of understanding for political consultations aimed at enhancing cooperation between Libya and Bangladesh in various fields. Al-Baour emphasized the importance the Government of National Unity places on addressing illegal immigration through cooperation with countries of origin.

The Bangladeshi Ambassador praised Libya’s efforts in this regard, highlighting the deportation operations conducted by the Libyan government on March 12, 2025, which involved the removal of dozens of irregular Bangladeshi migrants as a measure to combat illegal immigration.
