Al-Araji meets a Turkish official and confirms: Iraq is keen to develop its relations with neighboring countries

Baghdad, The National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji confirmed that Iraq is keen to develop its relations with neighboring countries.

The Chancellery stated in a statement: ‘Araji met today with the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Academy, Taha Koussa, and during the meeting they discussed strengthening security and intelligence cooperation between Baghdad and Ankara, especially in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information, as well as discussing strengthening relations between the two neighboring countries.’

Al-Araji stressed that the relations between Iraq and Turkey are strong and are constantly developing, pointing out that Iraq is keen to develop its relations with neighboring countries, in a way that serves everyone’s interests and achieves security and stability in the region.

Al-Araji expressed Iraq’s optimism about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s upcoming visit to Baghdad, noting that it will be a starting point for strengthening strategic relations that serve
the interests of the two countries at all levels.
