Al Ahly's handball team qualified on Sunday to the semifinal of Club World Championship despite their loss to Spain's Barcelona team 31-23 as part of group stage competitions held at the New Administrative Capital Hall in Egypt. The African champions clinched a 34-goal win against Sydney Uni in their first match. After today match, Al Ahly finished second in Group B with three points (+26).
