N’Djamena: Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Rida Al-Abed has reached an agreement with his Chadian counterpart, Minister of Public Service and Social Dialogue Abdallah Mbabi, to establish joint technical teams. These teams will oversee the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum of understanding between Libya and Chad.

According to Libyan News Agency, this decision was made during a meeting in N’Djamena, attended by key officials including the Advisor to the Minister of Labor, Jumaa Abu Awina, the Undersecretary of the Chadian Ministry of Public Service, and directors of relevant departments. The visit is part of efforts to activate the memorandum of understanding signed in Tripoli in November 2024, aimed at regulating the movement of workers and safeguarding the rights of both workers and employers.

The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation emphasized that the two nations have agreed to create joint technical teams to monitor the execution of the memorandum’s provisions and ensure that work progresses beneficially for both countries. The agreement also highlights the significance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in vocational training and rehabilitation, as well as sharing expertise.

The ministry noted that this initiative is part of broader efforts to fortify bilateral ties between Libya and Chad, improve the labor market, and manage worker migration in compliance with the legal frameworks of both countries.
