Speaker of the House of Representatives, “Aqila Saleh,” the UN envoy, “Abdullah Batili,” and Khalifa Haftar, “stressed the need to speed up holding elections without further delay.
This came during a meeting that brought them together on Tuesday evening in the city of Benghazi, according to tweets published by the UN envoy on his Twitter page.
“During the meeting, we agreed not to spare any effort to promote hope and reconciliation among Libyans, including the leaders of the Joint Military Committee and commanders of military and security units from all parts of Libya, to achieve peace and stability,” Batelli said.
The UN envoy added that “Aguila” and “Haftar” renewed their commitment to reviving hope for achieving lasting peace in Libya by organizing free and fair elections and a comprehensive national reconciliation process.
