Doha: The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Rajab Abdul-Sadig, engaged in discussions aimed at reinforcing Libya’s role within the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and enhancing cooperation with Iran. These discussions took place during the 27th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum in Doha, Qatar.
According to Libyan News Agency, Abdul-Sadig met with the Secretary-General of the GECF to explore the forum’s programs and future plans. The meeting focused on identifying ways to bolster Libya’s contribution to joint efforts among member states, as well as promoting stability and sustainable development within the global energy sector.
Additionally, during the ministerial meeting, Abdul-Sadig held talks with the Minister of Oil from the Islamic Republic of Iran. Their discussions centered on opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sectors. This included plans for exchanging technical expertise to enhance performance and contribute to the stability of energy markets.
