Head of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committee, Fadi Alameh, on Thursday met with German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried, with whom he discussed Israel's repeated aggressions against Lebanon. For his part, Alameh emphasized "the importance of implementing Resolution 1701 and renewing UNIFIL's mandate in southern Lebanon." He also acknowledged Germany's role in peacekeeping forces. Moreover, Aalameh briefed Stillfried on the committee's efforts to highlight the impacts of Israeli attacks through frequent meetings with ambassadors and diplomatic missions. Both men also addressed presidential initiatives and reforms, stressing "the necessity of dialogue between parliamentary blocs given Lebanon's sensitive composition."
