A delegation from USAID visits HNECA

Tripoli- Representative of the United States Agency for International Development, John Cardenas, and his deputy, Nathan Park, visited, Wednesday, the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), during which he met with members of the Commission’s board, Abdul Hakim Al-Shaab, Abu Bakr Marda, and Rabab Halap.

The Commission said that the visit of the delegation of the American organization comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the democratic process in Libya, and to see beforehand the level of the Commission’s readiness to implement the electoral processes, and to inquire about the type of support it can provide, in the field of managing and implementing elections.

The USAID delegation made an inspection tour of the Commission’s headquarters, during which they were briefed on the equipment and facilities of the Media Center and the Commission’s stores, praising the efforts made by the Commission to provide ideal conditions for holding elections in accordance with the highest international standards.

Members of the Commission Council expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the international community in support of the Commission and aimed at ending the transitional phase through a transparent electoral process that is acceptable to all parties and fulfills the aspirations of Libyans for a stable democratic state.
