5.5 magnitude earthquake hits Peru

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center stated, in a statement today, Saturday, that a 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded yesterday, Friday, south of Peru.

The statement indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 11 km northwest of the city of Huarancant, with a population of about 4.6 thousand people, at a depth of 2 km.

There were no reports of injuries or material damage as a result of the earthquake.
