Gaza city: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 18,489 students have been killed and 28,854 injured since the onset of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Ministry clarified in a statement that over 18,346 students were killed and 27,884 injured in the Gaza Strip alone. In the West Bank, 143 students lost their lives, 970 were injured, and 740 were detained.
The Ministry also reported that 970 teachers and administrators were killed, 4,533 were injured in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 199 were arrested in the West Bank.
Additionally, 160 government schools were completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip, along with 63 university buildings. A total of 118 government schools and 93 UNRWA schools were bombed and vandalized. The aggression led to the removal of 25 schools, along with their students and teachers, from the educational registry.
In the West Bank, 152 schools faced vandalism, and 8 universities and colleges experienced repeated raids and vandalism. As a result, university classes were shifted to an electronic format due to the prevailing circumstances.
