The Turkish Presidency called on the international community not to remain silent about the genocide carried out by the Israeli forces in Gaza, noting that the sector is witnessing “one of the darkest periods in the history of humanity.”
The Head of the Communications Department in the Turkish Presidency, Fahrettin Alton, said in a post on the X platform last night, “Do not remain silent for the sake of Gaza, because it is witnessing one of the darkest periods in the history of humanity, and the Israeli attacks that have been ongoing for 333 days have leveled cities to the ground, as mosques, churches, schools and hospitals have been bombed without any discrimination.”
He stressed that the Israeli forces also deliberately and systematically targeted journalists who work to document the grave humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, noting that children, women, the elderly and innocent civilians in Gaza are deprived of clean drinking water, food and health services.
Alton stressed that “the people of Gaza are being su
bjected to genocide before the eyes of the world, and this genocide should not only shake the conscience of Gaza, but the conscience of all humanity, and the international community must unite and react against this barbarism that has been going on for 333 days.”
He pointed out the importance of international cooperation to stop this tragedy and ensure the safety of children, and that ignoring the situation in Gaza means participating in these crimes, and said: “In the name of justice and humanity, we must raise our voices strongly to end this genocide.”
Israel, with full American support, has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, resulting in more than 135,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and severe famine.
