Top Senator Received by Equatorial Guinea’s President

Malabo – President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received, on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace in Malabo, Morocco’s House of Councillors Speaker, Enaam Mayara, who is on a working visit to the country at the head of a large parliamentary delegation.

During this audience, attended by Morocco’s Ambassador to Malabo, Ghoulam Maichane, Equatorial Guinea’s President hailed Morocco’s progress in different fields under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, welcoming the brotherly secular ties between the two countries.

He also reiterated his country’s firm and constant position in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity, stressing that it is a matter of principle to Equatorial Guinea.

In this regard, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo recalled that his country opened a Consulate General in Dakhla in 2020, stating that this decision, which reflects the country’s commitment to supporting Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, stems from its will to further strengthen cooperation with the Kingdom.

The Equatorial Guinean Head of State also lauded Morocco’s efforts for intra-African integration and cooperation, notably after Morocco’s return to the African Union, welcoming the initiatives launched by HM the King for Africa’s development.
