The Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo, Iraq’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, discussed with the Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, the challenges facing the Arab region and the Islamic world.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Ambassador Khalaf met with the Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt at Dar Al-Iftaa in Cairo, and during the meeting a number of topics were discussed, most notably the challenges facing the Arab region and the Islamic world, especially what is happening in the Gaza Strip from the Zionist aggression that contradicts all heavenly religions and humanitarian principles, and exceeds all standards related to violating international and humanitarian law and committing crimes in their most heinous forms, and the importance of cooperation and solidarity to confront these challenges was emphasized.
The meeting discussed, according to the statement, the importance of exchanging visits between clerics in Iraq and Eg
ypt, and the importance of these visits in light of the current circumstances that the region is going through, due to their role in enhancing cooperation and solidarity, and unifying the religious discourse that our Islamic nation is in dire need of.”
