The Diwani Order Committee to follow up on al-Muthanna files arrives in the governorate

Baghdad: The Diwani Order Committee to follow up on files related to corruption in Al-Muthanna Governorate arrived in the governorate this morning.

A statement by the Commission of Integrity stated that ‘the committee formed in accordance with Diwani Order (24617) headed by Judge (Haider Hanoun) arrived in Al-Muthanna Governorate,’ stressing that ‘the team took the Commission’s investigation office in the governorate as an operations room for the committee and a headquarters to receive reports about cases of administrative and financial corruption in the various departments of the governorate.’

The statement pointed out that “the committee calls on all citizens in Muthanna to cooperate through the reporting initiative, in order to uncover corruption files and hold those involved accountable,” noting that “the doors are open for them to submit reports supported by evidence, in order to achieve the higher interest, to preserve public money, and to provide the best services to the people of the governorate.”

During his meeting with a group of people from Al-Muthanna Governorate, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the formation of a committee headed by the head of the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau, which would visit the governorate, follow up on reports related to suspicions of corruption and waste of public money, scrutinize them and refer them to an audit, and if the defect is proven, an investigation will be conducted, the negligent parties will be identified, and they will be referred to the judiciary.’
