Speaker of the Arab Parliament calls for moving forward towards achieving electoral entitlements in Libya.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Asoumi, stressed the parliament’s commitment to support and enhance cooperation with Libya in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Libyan people for stability and development.

This came during Al-Asoumi’s reception of Libya’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Abdul-Muttalib Thabet, where they discussed the most prominent developments in the Libyan arena, according to the Arab Parliament on its official page.

Al-Asoumi called on the need to move forward towards achieving electoral, presidential, and legislative entitlements in Libya and to overcome this exceptional stage and move towards a more stable stage.

Al-Asoumi stressed the position of the Arab Parliament in support of Libya’s unity, preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference in its internal affairs, praising the efforts made by the Arab countries in this regard and their pursuit towards settling the Libyan crisis through the paths of a political solution.

Al-Asoumi also affirmed his support for all efforts made to achieve Libyan national reconciliation, welcoming in this context the preparatory forum for the inclusive conference for national reconciliation, which was held in Congo with the participation of the Libyan Presidential Council and representatives of various Libyan political forces and with the participation of the African Union and the League of Arab States.

On his side, Thabet commended the important role played by the Arab Parliament in supporting stability in Libya at all Arab, regional, and international levels.
