Presidential Council holds expanded meeting with a number of ambassadors of countries supporting the political process in the country

Tripoli- The Presidential Council held, Wednesday, in Tripoli, an extensive meeting with a number of ambassadors of countries accredited to Libya and who support the political process and stability of the country.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged to prepare a consensual constitutional basis and the Presidential Council’s support for any initiative that would enable the holding of general elections as soon as possible. Spokesman for the Presidential Council, Najwa Wahiba, explained that the meeting with these ambassadors who support Berlin tracks 1 and 2, as they won international support and consensus represented by Security Council resolutions, as well as local acceptance.

She said that the meeting discussed ways to support the initiative of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams regarding the achievement and preparation of a consensual constitutional basis, stressing the Presidential Council’s support for any initiative that would enable the holding of general elections as soon as possible, and was able to build on the gains of the stage in the past period and conduct the elections progress in the electoral process.
