PM: New Alamein city unique development project off Mediterranean coast


Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday 27/7/2024 said that that New Alamein city is of special importance for the state and a unique project that encompasses carrying out several housing units and service, commercial, entertainment and administrative facilities.

The project is meant to turn the city into a hub for investment and destination for tourism. It also aims at leveraging the potential of this charming spot off the Mediterranean coast, the premier said.

Madbouli made the remarks during an inspection tour Saturday morning of the New Alamein city to follow up on the implementation rate of the mega project.

He was accompanied by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbiny, Head of New Alamein City Authority Ahmed Ibrahim alongside a number of officials of the ministry.

At the onset of the tour, the premier inspected the heritage city to get first hand information about operation of the facilities there.

Built on an area of 260 feddans, the heritage city comprises a
set of heritage, cultural and commercial buildings, atop of which is a main lake, mosque, church, opera house, museum, cinema complex, Roman theater, building for exhibitions, hotel and a number of luxurious housing units, said minister Sherbiny.
