Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates World Heart Day

Manama, The Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates World Heart Day, which falls on 29 September of each year.

This year’s theme, “Use Heart for Action”, bears a strong expression regarding the importance of the health of the heart and body, as well as expressing the union of physical and psychological health regarding professional performance, which in turn leads to building a healthy society free of illnesses.

The slogan of the event focuses on the necessity of maitaining a healthy heart as an integral part of boosting work and productivity. A healthy heart helps raise focus and energy, as well has increasing passion and attention for work.

Within the framework of efforts by the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide inclusive and sustainable health, initiatives and projects have been launched with the aim of reducing the spread of heart disease and its leading factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.The National Committee to Combat Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases was formed
by the Minister of Health as well as other specialised members to place the necessary plans and programmes to combat the spread of such diseases.

The comittee also focuses on combining partnerships between government and private sectors, to promote healthy lifestyles, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and reduce risk factors such as smoking, unhealthy diets, obesity and other preventions for heart disease.
