The Egyptian Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent, continues to provide food and relief supplies to the residents of the Gaza Strip, which is witnessing a severe shortage of food supplies, which has made its residents vulnerable to a catastrophic famine, which requires the continued introduction of aid in large quantities into the Gaza Strip, which is living under the burden of war and hunger imposed on them by the Israeli occupation.

159 trucks loaded with food, medical and shelter supplies entered from the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings, as part of the daily convoys to support the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip.

35 trucks entered directly from the Rafah crossing, including 8 fuel cars, 4 gas trucks, and 4 trucks loaded with diesel, in addition to 35 trucks loaded with various aids. The aid vehicles included 6 cars loaded with tents, 11 cars loaded with various foodstuffs, 4 trucks loaded with flour, 3 cars loaded with water, a truck loaded with pasta, and 4 trucks loade
d with ready-made meals.

40 wounded Palestinians were received from Al-Aqsa, European, and Nasser hospitals in the Gaza Strip for treatment in Egyptian hospitals in the governorates of North Sinai, Ismailia, Suez, Port Said, Cairo, Giza, and Sharqia, along with 30 of their companions.

300 Palestinians holding residency in Egypt and a number of Arab and foreign countries were received, in addition to receiving 80 holders of foreign passports, 100 people holding Egyptian passports, and 50 university and higher institute students.

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Egypt has received more than 5,000 injured and sick people from Gaza for treatment in Egyptian hospitals and some sisterly and friendly countries.

During Palm Sunday Mass service in Bkirki this morning, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros al-Rahi raised prayers to the Lord Almighty for the sake of Gaza’s children and for peace to prevail in wake of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the recent tragic massacre in Moscow.

Internally, al-Rahi prayed to the Almighty to grant us salvation amidst the structure of sin against God in which we are living, following the spiritual, moral, social and political sins that have brought corruption to its peak in our country.

He said: ‘The season of Great Lent is a time for all of us to return to God with all our hearts in the spirit of repentance and austerity, and to return to each other in the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation, and to our brothers and sisters who need a helping hand at the physical, spiritual, and moral levels…’

‘This is the path that leads us to commit, each in his position and responsibilities, to building our national unity complemented by our cultural and religious pluralism,’ the
Patriarch asserted.
