Higher Education Minister says keen on exchanging expertise with Russia


Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour said Egypt is keen on exchanging expertise with Russia to implement joint strategic projects.

Egypt could benefit from Russia’s experiment in honing skills of professionals and specialists to serve national projects, Ashour said in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Valery Falkov.

The meeting took up means of boosting bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific research.

It was held on the sidelines of the 11th ministerial meeting of BRICS member states in Kazan, Russia.

Ashour hailed as ‘deep’ relations between Cairo and Moscow in many fields. He underscored tangible progress in joint ties over the past period.

The minister also posted Falkov on a national strategy launched by his Ministry to support innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

They also discussed efforts to establish branches of Russian IT universities in Egypt in cooperation with Borg El Arab Technological University.

Falkov said he is happy to meet Ashour, stressing Russia’s k
eenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt.

He praised Egypt’s historical role in the Arab world, the Middle East region and African continent.
