FM values media’s pivotal role in raising public awareness


Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, expressed deep appreciation for the crucial and patriotic role played by the Egyptian media in raising public awareness on key national issues with remarkable professionalism. He also commended the media for effectively presenting Egypt’s perspective, especially amidst the unprecedented regional and international challenges.

During a meeting on Monday with heads of national media organisations and editors-in-chief and board directors of national and private newspapers in Egypt, the minister reviewed the most pressing issues currently dominating Egypt’s foreign policy agenda.

The head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr, the head of the National Press Authority (NPA); Abdel Sadiq el-Shorbagy, and Diaa Rashwan, head of the State Information Service (SIS).

The discussions covered Egypt’s assessment of regional challenges and crises, its relationships with international partners, as well as the
country’s initiatives in these areas, Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement.

Specific topics such as the situation in Gaza, the crisis in Sudan, efforts to enhance consular services for citizens abroad, and strategies to boost Egypt’s economic, trade, and investment relations were also addressed.

The meeting featured an open dialogue between the minister, media professionals, and journalists, during which Abdelatty responded to inquiries and provided detailed insights into various aspects of Egypt’s foreign policy priorities, the nation’s efforts to safeguard its national security, and the strengthening of relations with strategic partners.
