Abu Zeid explained that the meeting included an exchange of views on the current crisis in Sudan, considering its direct impact on both Egypt and Chad, given their proximity to Sudan, noting that they are among the countries most affected by the crisis and its humanitarian consequences, especially as they host hundreds of thousands of Sudanese refugees.

Moreover, their national security is closely linked to the security and stability of Sudan, the spokesperson added.

The two ministers agreed on the need to focus efforts on opening border crossings and providing safe corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid to all Sudanese regions, ensuring safe access for humanitarian workers to affected areas, and encouraging donor countries and relevant i
nternational organizations to fulfill their commitments in humanitarian support for Sudan in coordination with neighboring countries.

They also discussed intensifying efforts to reach a hoped-for resolution to the crisis and reviewed the overall political and security developments in Africa, along with several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The foreign ministers stressed the importance of intensifying coordination and consultation in the coming period to address the recurring challenges facing African countries.
