FM holds political consultations with Cypriot FM


The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Badr Abdelatty, received on Thursday, August 1, Konstantinos Kompos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

In a statement by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, Spokesperson and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he explained that the two foreign ministers held a closed bilateral talks session followed by an expanded session that included the delegations of the two countries, which dealt with all bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common interest, within the framework of the special nature of the historical relations between the two countries and the common keenness to maintain the existing bilateral contacts at various levels, in light of the strategic nature of the relations.

ious topics, welcoming the keenness of the President of Cyprus to participate in the Egyptian-European Summit held in Cairo on March 17, 2024, which reflects the depth of strategic relations between the two countries, and emphasizing Egypt’s keenness to enhance economic and trade relations with Cyprus in various fields, in line with the political convergence between the two countries, as well as the importance of pushing cooperation in new areas, while noting the strategic nature of the energy file at the same time.
