Al-Tarmal meets with Representative of UNDP in Libya.


Tripoli: Minister State for Women Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, discussed with the Representative of the UNDP in Libya, Sophie Kemkhadze, strengthening bilateral relations and joint cooperation.

The communication office of the ministry stated that the meeting was held on Tuesday and discussed a number of essential issues that aim to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in political and development areas, paying attention to the women’s role in sustainable development and supporting them and their vital role in the community, and how to intensify joint efforts to develop and empower women in different areas in light of current challenges facing Libya.

Al-Tarmal stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with the UNDP, noting that promoting Libyan women and enabling them to play a leadership role in the development process represent a top priority.

Kemkhadze stressed the UNDP’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the office of the Minister State for Women Affairs, which contributes to sup
porting the government’s efforts in this area.

The communication office stated that the meeting came as an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the Government of National Unity and the UNDP and enhancing the efforts aimed at achieving equality between men and women and supporting the effective participation of women in building the future.
