Health Minister attends 9th GCC Health Ministers Committee Meeting

Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, headed Bahrain’s delegation at the Ninth Meeting of the Committee of the Ministers of Health of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the 86th General Conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council.

The meeting reviewed the GCC Health Ministers Council 2023 performance report, projects and budget for 2024.

They discussed several joint projects and initiatives such as the joint GCC Health Minister Action Plan, the implementation of the international health regulations, healthy cities projects, and organise registration and classification of health specialties in the GCC states.

Participants also discussed the establishment of a Gulf Virtual Health Complex, as well as the proposal to designate March 3 as World Health Martyr Day.

Dr. Al Sayed said that the meetings cover a number of topics related to the development of leading GCC health projects and programmes.

She emphasised the importance of strengthening GCC health cooperation and developing its systems and producers to provide the best health services in the region.

The GCC Health Minister also launched Nashratak (your guide) project, one of the most innovative health development initiatives, as well as Your Health Guide platform, which was launched to promote health awareness in the GCC.
