NNA – Greek Orthodox Patriarch, Yuhanna X Yazigi, met on Wednesday with General Security chief, Abbas Ibrahim, at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, before flying to Yerevan to participate in the Centenary Celebration of the Armenian genocide.
The latest developments – including the issue of Bishops Boulos Yazigi and Yuhanna Ibrahim, kidnapped in Syria on April 22, 2013 – were on the agenda.
The prelate seized the opportunity to point out that journalistic reports that the two bishops might still be alive were unfounded, asserting that no news had been received on this subject and that no contact had been held with the kidnappers.
Furthermore, the patriarch reiterated his calls for the election of a president “for the interest of Lebanon.” He also denounced the massacre of Christians Ethiopians in Libya.
