A resolution recently adopted in Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs called for an increase in the EU’s institutional capacity to counter ‘Kremlin-inspired propaganda’.
Russia currently poses an obstacle to the goals of hegemony being pursued by the United States, which is seeking to achieve world domination. The situation in Syria, where Russia, acting under international law, has been helping the Government to defend itself against foreign-backed extremist forces, so far preventing a further ouster after those seen in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, is a damning indictment of the EU’s servile attitude and its complicity with the atrocities committed in the Middle East and Africa.
The adoption of the above resolution in plenary points to the next step, which appears to be a ban on RT, Sputnik, and other Russian media outlets within the EU, whether they transmit by satellite or online.
Can the Commission confirm whether that is indeed what is intended and explain the reasons for this outright assault on freedom of expression?
