Who is the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, “Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah”?

The National Iraqi News Agency documents the personal biography of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was officially mourned by the party today, Saturday, after his martyrdom during the Zionist raids that targeted the southern suburb of the capital Beirut during the past hours.

* Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is a Lebanese Muslim cleric and the Secretary-General of Hezbollah. He was born in one of the poorest and most deprived neighborhoods in the eastern suburb of Beirut, and completed his secondary education in the village of “Al-Bazourieh”, where he joined the Amal Movement, which was known at the time as the “Movement of the Deprived”, where he quickly became the representative of his village, despite his young age.

* In late 1976, he went to Najaf Al-Ashraf, where he met the martyr Sayyed Muhammad Baqir Al-Sadr, who assigned the martyr Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi to take care of his academic affairs there.

* Sayyed Nasrallah returned to Lebanon in 1978 due to the prac
tices of the Baathist regime in Iraq, and he completed his studies and teaching of Islamic sciences at the Imam al-Muntazar (AS) Seminary.

In 1982, the Zionist invasion of Lebanon began and the city of Baalbek witnessed the establishment of ‘Hezbollah’ and Sayyed assumed various responsibilities in Hezbollah since its inception.

* On February 16, 1992, he was unanimously elected by the Shura Council members as Secretary-General of Hezbollah, succeeding the former Secretary-General, the martyr Sayyed Abbas al-Moussawi, who was assassinated by Israeli forces.

The graph of resistance operations increased in quantity and quality during his tenure as Secretary-General of the party until the liberation in 2000.

* In July 2006, Sayyed Nasrallah’s role emerged in the war launched by the Zionist entity against Lebanon, which the entity was unable to achieve its goals, and lost many of its soldiers and officers in it.

* Hezbollah is a resistance jihadist movement and a Lebanese political party with a broad popular
base and a significant parliamentary bloc.

* It was founded in 1985, and its current Secretary-General is Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

* It has achieved victories over the Israeli occupation entity, the most important of which are the liberation of the south in 2000, July 2006, and the defeat of terrorist groups in 2017 and the defeat of the Israeli entity in its recent aggression on Gaza. Among its most important goals are resisting the occupation and liberating the occupied land. It is also considered one of the most prominent movements and forces of the axis of resistance.
