Violent clashes renewed today, Wednesday, between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum.

These clashes come despite the sixth truce announced between the army and the Rapid Support Forces for a period of 72 hours, which ends at midnight today, Wednesday, while a new truce begins for a period of 7 days, Thursday.

The media reported: “Violent clashes are taking place in the vicinity of the Republican Palace in Khartoum, and thick smoke is rising around the Jackson station for transportation in the city center.”

In turn, the Rapid Support Forces said they had repelled an attack by the Central Reserve Police forces on their positions in central Khartoum.

Eyewitnesses indicated that strong explosions occurred north of the city of Bahri, north of Khartoum, with the sounds of anti-aircraft guns being heard.

Despite the battles, the “Coordination Committees of Resistance” in the city of Omdurman organized a stance to protest the fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The protesters expressed their rejection of the battles and escalation in the country, and raised slogans calling for an end to the war. The Coordination Committee has pledged to continue the peaceful rejection of this war.
